  • ITMO University Makes It Into Top-10 of RAEX Ranking

    For the first time, ITMO University entered the top-10 of the RAEX Universities Reputation Ranking in the field of “engineering, natural and exact sciences”, having gone up five positions and securing  ninth  place. The ranking is compiled based on the results of a survey; the respondents were asked to assess each university in accordance with three criteria: the quality of education, the demand for a university’s graduates among employers, and the level of research activity.

  • ITMO University Topped GoTech Ranking

    For the third time, the GoTech Innovation company assessed Russian universities in terms of the number of IT entrepreneurs they trained. The data used in the study was obtained via questionnaires. For the first time, ITMO University took first place. According to the company’s estimates, ITMO students and graduates accounted for more than 5% of all the entrepreneurs who participated in the GoTech contest last year.

  • ITMO and Rostelecom Support Technological Startups

    Rostelecom and ITMO University have signed a cooperation agreement on joint acceleration programs and technological startups development. Together, the company and the university will launch several acceleration programs, as well as other educational events aimed at supporting Russian scientific organizations and industrial enterprises that specialize in information and communication technologies, cutting-edge products for all sectors of the economy, as well as software and hardware-software systems.

  • Mentorship Program: Find a Mentor and Land Your Dream Job

    ITMO University graduates can now take part in the Mentorship Program launched in collaboration with the Recursion charity fund and aimed at creating a platform for university graduates and students to share ideas and experience. About 250 university graduates became mentors for more than 1000 students.

  • PyLadies: Python for Women

    St. Petersburg has recently hosted the first PyLadies meetup in the CIS countries. PyLadies is a community of women Python developers with chapters in 76 cities all around the world. The group’s mission is to help more women become active participants and leaders in the Python open-source community, as well as create a platform for sharing knowledge and establishing useful connections.   • How Blockchain Technologies Are Changing Everyday Professions

    Blockchain technology has existed for almost 10 years now, but its potential has only begun to unravel in the past few years. Blockchain had a great effect on the field of finance, especially in regards to cryptocurrency, accounting, interactions between banks, and government regulation in the field of finance. Dmitry Plahov,  coordinator  of Dash, a community of St. Petersburg-based blockchain developers, recently gave a lecture on how different professions have changed with the development of blockchain technology.

  • ITMO University Shines at TechCrunch International Robotics Conference

    In December 2017, ITMO University started to collaborate with the British company TRA Robotics. Since then, they have been working on several joint projects in the field of robotics. In the middle of May, Berkeley, United States, hosted one of the world's most prestigious conferences in the field of robotics, TechCrunch Sessions: Robotics 2018. ITMO University and TRA Robotics presented their joint projects, a prototype of versatile industrial grasping device “UHVAT”, and an algorithm of sensorless force/torque regulation for robotic arms.

  • Island 10-21 Welcomes Future Technological Leaders

    This July (10-21) the University of National Technical Initiative "20.35" will hold its first intensive training course for 1000 Russian technological leaders on Russky Island. The training organizers (University of NTI "20.35", ASI, RVC, Data Economy Russia 2024 and FEFU) will use these eleven days to provide the participants with all the skills necessary for digital economy development that usually take months to acquire.   • Here's How ITMO's New Academic Degree System Will Work

    Last year, 19 universities and 4 scientific organizations in Russia were given the right to grant their own academic degrees, form thesis boards and outline their credentials. According to representatives of those universities that have already started this process, it will help Russian universities better integrate into the international community.
