    Yesterday, 19 October, the meeting of the rectors of the Universities participating in Project 5−100, also members of the Association of "Global Universities", was held where the heads of leading universities, together with Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets and Minister of Education and Science Olga Vasilyeva summed up the interim results of Project 5−100. This year, 2016, marks the midpoint of Project 5−100, the program aimed at increasing the competitiveness of universities among leading research and educational centers which has already been running for three years.

    ITMO University received the UNESCO Medal «For the Development of Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies». Rector Vladimir Vasilyev accepted the award from UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova during an official ceremony in Paris — as the official statement said, for «the university's unique environment: science — education — innovations».

  • Celebrating ITMO. STORE’s First Birthday

    Exactly one year ago, on October 10th, ITMO. STORE, a store full of ITMO branded products, opened up. It sold some shirts and stationery with the university’s logo. Since then, at least 85 unique pieces made with love have shown up on its website and showroom: shirts, cups, hoodies, soft toys, stickers, chocolate and many others. Alexander Golovaty, the director of ITMO store and Konstantin Kozlov, the store manager talked about their plans for the store’s future.

    The latest Times Higher Education subject rankings were announced for Computer Science. ITMO University has never been represented in these rankings before and this year took 56th place, just one of two Russian Universities in the top-100 (along with Lomonosov Moscow State University).
