ITMO University in QS World Subject Rankings for the First Time
The QS World University Rankings by Subject, carried out annually by the British company Quacquarelli Symonds, evaluates universities from 74 countries for 46 different subjects. The following indicators are included in the ranking: academic and employer reputation, number of research citations of the university and H-index.

ITMO Students Presented Summer Schools in Europe
Maria Semashko and Ksenia Bureiko, Master’s students at the High-Performance Computing Department, took part in a two-week internship — they visited ITMO’s Rep Office in Brussels, Belgium and several universities in European countries where they talked about ITMO’s Summer Schools.

Surviving Yemen, Surviving ITMO
When we met Dheya Al-Saeedi, we were struck by his positivity, ambition and hope for the future, especially as he began to reveal his history. Still young, he has experienced what many hope not to experience. For those of you who don’t know where Yemen is, it’s on the southwestern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, wedged between Saudi Arabia and Oman. It also has its fair share of issues. The south wants to separate from the north and the country is in a constant state of war. It’s also the poorest country in the Arabian Peninsula.
