  • New Interdisciplinary Collaboration Combining Particle Physics and Nanophotonics

    Headed by Rector Vladimir Vasilyev, a delegation of scientists from ITMO’s School of Physics and Engineering has recently returned from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) located in Dubna, Moscow Oblast. JINR is an international intergovernmental scientific organization that conducts research in the fields of nuclear and particle physics, as well as the physics of condensed media. The visit paid by ITMO University’s physicists will result in a large-scale interdisciplinary collaboration and the launch of a new field of research for the university.

  • ITMO Researchers Develop Special Ink For Anti-Counterfeiting Protection

    Scientists from ITMO University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and the University of Toronto have developed a gel ink that emits light when exposed to monochromatic radiation of various wavelengths. This makes it possible to create complex images when applying tags to products – the scientists believe that the level of anti-counterfeiting protection offered by their invention is much higher than that of the existing counterparts. The research received support from a Russian Science Foundation and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education grant.

  • ITMO Researchers Increase Productivity Using Smart Lighting

  • ITMO University Receives Grant to Fund AI Research Center

    ITMO University’s AI Research Center “Strong AI in Industry” became one of the grant winners in the contest held as part of the federal Artificial Intelligence project. The selection process was conducted by experts of the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation. The research center will be granted more than 1 billion rubles.
