Taipei Delegation Visited ITMO University
A delegation of Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation visited ITMO University. Fu Chao Ming, director of the Department of Science and Technology and Lu Yun-Pin, director of the Department of Education, discussed technology and research collaboration with Russian colleagues.
“Providing educational collaboration with Taiwan partners we are going to widen it. For instance, we signed a framework agreement for cooperation in research and education with National Taiwan Normal University. Currently we discuss a student exchange program for a year,” noted Daria Kozlova, Vice Rector for International Relations.
Sergei Makarov, engineer of International Research Center for Nanophotonics and Metamaterials, talked international guests about activities of the center. Professor Alexander Alodjants also presented the most interesting projects provided by Laboratory of Light-Matted Coupling in Nanostructures.
“We are going to develop a joint exchange program for PhD students in alliance with National Tsing Hua University, one of the leading Taiwan universities. Moreover, we also plan to launch an interesting research project,” said Mr. Alodjants.
Lyudmila Vidyasova, head of Monitoring Research Department, presented e-Governance Center noting that its officials plan to collaborate with National Chengchi University.
“We have got valuable experience by providing international projects. Some of them were supported by European Union`s grants. Our research activities are connected with several fields. We research how modern technologies can contribute to political decision making and how a public can participate in this process. Last year we developed an e-portal monitoring system based on online participation. Most of our experts are specialists in economics, political and social sciences,” noted Ms. Vidyasova.
Having common interests ITMO University and Taiwan universities are going to launch joint trainings and exchange programs.
Coordination Commission`s members agreed with ITMO University to submit joint application for Russian Science Foundation`s grants.
