According to the organizers, the Days were full of various meetings and events. Thus its` guests could visit 17 round tables, the conference, the presentation of studying programs as well as interactive game Patent Law Debates. Those who stayed out of St. Petersburg attended meetings using a live streaming service. Stanislav Alexandrov, vice president of St. Petersburg Board for Patent Agents and main supervisor of Licensing Studies Project initiated by Department of the International Business and Law, said that the participants of meetings discuss such crucial issues as unfair practices connected with intellectual property infringement, counterfeit goods detection, arguable points of copyright law, trade mark using and many others.

The previous Monday and Friday were the most eventful days. Thus Vyacheslav Turenko, member of Intellectual Property Council, headed a workshop “License: Where to Receive and How to Apply.”  Mr. Turenko explained all complicated bureaucratic procedures and talked about rights and responsibilities of patent owners. The representatives of universities and academic area also visited the seminar called “Intellectual Property Policy for Universities and Research Centers.” At the final meeting of the Event the organizing committee will announce the winners of Competition for School Students “Intellectual Property of the Future” and other contests for young experts.

“All decisions made by the experts will be applied for development of the legal system as well as the higher education area. It is very important that all of pioneering ideas implemented during this session will be checked and analyzed at the next Intellectual Property Days,” noted Elena Bogdanova, head of Department of the International Business and Law and founder of the project.

According to Ms. Bogdanova, currently licensing studies are necessary to be developed. Previously it was impossible or very difficult to make money form the assets created by means of mental activity. The exclusive rights of creators were not taken into account by business area. However now there are more and more people who want to change it. Today it is clear that it is impossible to create innovations without applying for intellectual property law, which can be regulated by patent specialists who deal with intellectual property valuation, its` commercialization and protection of companies` rights.    For these purposes Department of the International Business and Law launched continuing training courses in the field of licensing studies.

Over the last eight years the stakeholders of IP Days have managed to contribute the civil code by implementing some relevant regulatory changes. They also helped to invent the educational standard for Master degree in intellectual property studies.
