  • Dining with Laureates: ITMO PhD Student Shares His Experience of the Sixth Heidelberg Forum

Every year, young scientists from all over the world come to the German city of Heidelberg to take part in the Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), a networking event for young mathematicians and computer scientists willing to meet with the world’s leading researchers in these fields. To be allowed to participate, young scientists have to undergo a rigorous selection process, but if you succeed, you are given an opportunity to not only listen to laureates’ speeches but also talk to them in person in an informal setting. Besides, participants can showcase their own ideas and get an expert opinion. Javlon Isomurodov, a PhD student from ITMO’s Information Technologies and Programming Faculty, also partake in the forum. In this interview with ITMO.NEWS, he talks about how the selection process is organized and what opportunities the forum brings to young scientists.
