  • Where They're Always Glad to Help: Inside the New Student Services Office at ITMO University

    The Student Services Office, which was launched at ITMO University in August 2019, has moved to a new location. The brand-new creative space now operates on the fourth floor at Lomonosova St. 9 and is ready to help students to resolve their questions about paperwork, tuition fees, accommodation and academic backlog. Plus, there is a cozy coworking space where you can discuss your projects, do your homework or just relax in between classes.

  • New Technologies for Longevity: Joint Project by ITMO University and European Partners

    This summer, as part of the international cross-border cooperation program “Interreg Baltic Sea Region 2014-2020”, city councils, universities, industrial plants and R&D companies have joined efforts to solve the problem of accessibility for older people in the Baltic region. To improve the situation, participants of the program want to create a range of accessible public spaces for seniors in the cities of the Baltic region. ITMO University, a participant of the BaltSe@nioR 2.0 international project, is responsible for creating VR/AR content for older people, as well as developing special furniture pieces that will allow seniors and people with disabilities to safely use modern technologies (such as VR, videos in the 360 format, etc.) for socializing.

  • ITMO Master’s Students Win National Lighting Design Competition

    Second-year students of the Lighting Design Master’s program at ITMO University are named among the winners of Russia’s biggest lighting design competition. Winners received their awards during the international exhibition Interlight Moscow powered by Light + Building. Three projects by ITMO students were included in the top-10 list of interior lighting designs.

Urbanist and popular blogger Timo Hämäläinen, whose blog ‘From Rurban to Urban’ was rated among the best in its category by The Guardian, talked about urban development in Finland during the Geography for Everyone summer school that took place at ITMO University.
