  • ITMO’s New Professional Development Programs: Data Analysis, BIM, and Web Design

    ITMO University has recently launched three new professional development programs on the Open Education online platform: Data Analysis, Project Development with BIM, and Professional Web Design in HTML and CSS (all courses are taught in Russian). Upon completing each of the courses, students will get a state-standard CPD (continuous professional development) certificate.   • WorldSkills Winner on His Competition Experience

    At the end of November, Moscow hosted the final round of the II National Championship of Vocational Skills organized by WorldSkills. ITMO University Master’s student Vladislav Nesterov took second place in the Cryogenic Technology and Conditioning Systems category. With each year that passes, the competition is becoming more and more popular: 93 universities were among the participants in 2018, which is ten more than last year. A total of 400 students from leading Russian higher education institutions from 43 regions came to Moscow to compete for victory. In this interview with ITMO.NEWS, Vladislav Nesterov shares about his preparation process and emotional tension he experienced during the competition’s finals.

  • ITMO University Expands BIM Program in Partnership with Industry Leaders

    BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a new area of engineering design that lets engineers analyze blueprints, detect possible faults and model the physical properties of construction projects. An occupational retraining program on BIM has been active at ITMO for more than a year now. This year, it was expanded with a new module developed in collaboration with the company «Geodezicheskie Pribori». In September, the course will launch with an additional module developed in collaboration with Renga Software. ITMO.NEWS spoke to specialists in the field to learn why BIM technology is so crucial to the Russian business.

  • RVC Experts: Why Entrepreneurial Education Matters

    ITMO University has launched a training program for university professors teaching the course “Innovation Economy and Technological Entrepreneurship” developed by the Russian Venture Company (RVC), ITMO University and Moscow State University. Throughout the week, representatives from 52 Russian universities will master teaching methods, specifics of education in innovation economy, basics of for-profit R&D, technology transfer and licensing, creation of technological startups, as well as develop their own strategies for commercialization of given R&D results.

  • ITMO University Opens Educational Courses on BIM Technologies in Building and Infrastructure Design

    ITMO University has launched an educational program for professional training in cooperation with OOO “Research and Development Center “Etalon””. The program is mainly dedicated to study of BIM technology. It can be used to account for all the properties and measurements of the building not only during construction, but also during its operational stage and to predict the possible faults in the structure as well as monitor its condition in real-time. By increasing their theoretical and practical knowledge through the program, specialists are able to work as BIM- managers, coordinators and modelers.
