  • Inkjet Printers Can Produce Cheap Micro-Waveguides for Optical Computers

Scientists from ITMO University have proposed a new technology for creating optical micro-waveguides based on inkjet printing. By using this method, it is possible to create waveguides with the necessary parameters quickly and without expensive equipment and complex procedures. The new technology is now being optimized for the production of optical elements on an industrial scale. The results are published in Advanced Optical Materials.

  • New Research Allows Jet-Printing of Piezostructures and Holograms on Any Surface

ITMO University’s Master's students Vladislav Slabov and Kirill Keller talk about the role of inkjet printing methods in their new research. The scientists have created a way to not only print chromatic holograms on any surface but also to create high-quality organic piezoelectric structures. The results of their research were published in Advanced Functional Materials and Applied Materials & Interfaces.
