• ITMO University to Host Modern Art Exhibition 2020 → 2070

  On September 11, the Faculty of Technological Management and Innovations at Chaikovskogo St. 11/2 will open its doors to guests of the modern art exhibition 2020 → 2070.The event will take place as part of a joint project by the RUSNANO Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs and the Frida Project Foundation. In their works, contributing artists muse on the next 50 years of science and technology.

• AI vs. Nanotechnology: ITMO Scientists on What Tech to Expect in the Near Future

  The online project Stay The F Home Bar launched almost concurrently with the start of the pandemic. One of its virtual rooms, called I Speak You Listen, is designed as a venue for open lectures. ITMO University scientists recently tried out this new format; on May 7, George Zograf, PhD student of the Faculty of Physics and Engineering, and Andrey Filchenkov, head of the Machine Learning Lab, took part in an open talk during which they discussed the near future of AI and nanoscience – and whether we should fear them.

  This weekend, ITMO University’s International Council has gathered for its 11th session in the buzzing city of Tel Aviv, Israel. The members exchanged their opinions and expertise in discussing the meeting’s keynote topic, “Towards ITMO’s 2021-2027 Roadmap”, explored the ways of attracting new talents into the University’s distinguished academic staff, and made a visit to one of ITMO’s partner institutions in Israel, Ben Gurion University of the Negev, as part of the event’s vibrant cultural program.

• No Cords, No Cars: An ITMO University Lecture Takes a Peek Into Our Digital Future

  ITMO University has recently hosted the lecture “Digital World: How to Keep Up With the Times”, which explored the specifics of building a career in the era of internet, gadgets and widespread robotization. The speakers – psychologist, business coach, career orientation specialist and ITMO University lecturer Maria Ososkova, and educational events manager, online courses producer and online education coordinator Evgeny Trokhov – told their audience about the unique trends that have the potential to bring about a sea change in our professional lives in the years to come.

• Voting Begins as ITMO Highpark Exhibition Opens in St. Petersburg

  From November 22 till December 15, 2018, an exhibition of concept designs for ITMO University’s new campus and innovations center Highpark will be hosted in the ITMO building at Lomonosova St. 9. Students, staff and guests can learn about each of the four architectural proposals and cast their vote by filling out a form on the spot or taking the online survey.

• Top Russian and European Firms Present Concept Designs for ITMO Highpark

  On November 17, the first session of ITMO Highpark’s international expert council was held as part of the 7th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. The discussion revolved around proposed architectural and planning solutions for ITMO University’s innovative new campus in the Yuzhny satellite city, in the Pushkinsky District of St. Petersburg. Design concepts were showcased by bureaus from the UK, the Netherlands, Austria and Russia. After reviewing the proposals, the international expert council is expected to pick one that will determine the future look of ITMO Highpark.
