  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids of Plant Origin and Biomedical Tasks: ITMO Scientists’ Research at University of Lorraine

    This fall, PhD student Daria Kuznetsova and Master’s student Mariam Muradova from the Faculty of Food Biotechnologies and Engineering, who are also members of the “Biotechnologies of the Third Millennium” international research center, will go to the University of Lorraine to conduct research in the field of life sciences. For Daria, this will be her second trip to France, where she’ll continue to work on her research thesis. Mariam spent last year’s spring semester at the University of Verona, Italy, and this year, she will continue her research in the field of plant biotechnology.   • From A Double Degree Program To A PhD In France: Student Shares

    In 2014-2016, Uliana Pinaeva was studying Molecular Bio- and Nanophotonics (MONABIPHOT), a double degree program conducted by ITMO University and ENS de Cachan (France). During her time in France, she decided to continue her education as a PhD student abroad. To get a corresponding grant, she passed a three-stage selection conducted by the University of Paris-Saclay. Currently, Uliana is a second-year PhD student working in a laboratory at École Polytechnique - one of the most prestigious universities in France.   • "Travel Is The Key To A Career In Science": Biophotonics Specialist Maria Borovkova On How To Be Successful, While Studying And Working In Three Countries

    Photonics is a scientific field which studies the applied aspects of working with optical signals; for many, it is still an obscure area. According to Maria Borovkova, PhD student at the University of Oulu and ITMO,  who studies in Finland on a double-degree program, photonics, first and foremost, is a source of countless applications for optical signals. Photonics research makes possible the invention of devices and technologies that are designed to make people's lives easier.   • First Graduates of ITMO and University of Rostock Double Degree Program Receive Diplomas

    On November 7, the first four graduates of the joint double-degree Master’s program between ITMO University and the University of Rostock “Business Information Systems” received their diplomas.     Soumen Banerjee came to ITMO University in September 2015 after getting his Bachelor’s degree in Calcutta. He enrolled at ITMO’s High-Performance Computing Department on a double-degree program and spent the first year of his studies in St. Petersburg.
