Indian Mosaic festival
A country of vibrant culture, age-old traditions, diverse geography, and exotic cuisine, India has long mesmerized travelers from all over the world. This weekend, you’ll have a chance to experience a piece of this beautiful and ancient country right in the heart of St. Pete, at the Indian Mosaic international festival, which is taking place at the St. Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design from February 12 to February 22.
Organized in collaboration with the Indian Consulate, the festival features an interactive exhibition about Mahatma Gandhi, an Indian activist and the leader of the Indian independence movement, an exhibition of works by Indian school children and students of the Hindi School in St. Petersburg, as well as the international conference ‘India at the at the crossroads of cultures and traditions: science, education, art’. Admission is free.
Old Istanbul photo exhibition
Don’t want to go back to the wintry St. Petersburg just yet? For those out there like myself fed up with the cold and snow, the Rosphoto museum is hosting an exhibition of retro photos of Istanbul. Though black and white, they still channel a sense of the sea breeze, the heat, and the old-world charm. Marvel at opulent palaces, imperial mosques, colorful bazaars, and marine landscapes, and familiarize yourself with the history of one of the most beautiful cities in the world! The exhibition is open until March 31 from 11am to 7pm, and from midday to 9pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Entrance fee is 150 rubles.
Motorcycle show at Galeria Mall
Think that your life lacks drive and dynamics? Then the Galeria Bike Show is exactly what you need. With a total of 40 bikes on display, from vintage 1920-1970s rarities to stylish modern sports examples, they have it all, including the legendary Harley Davidson. The exhibition is open from February 8 till March 3. Admission is free.
Exhibition to Kinopolis movie studio
For those who want to learn more about modern cinema production, the Kinopolis movie studio organizes interactive exhibitions, the first one kicking off this Saturday, February 16. Once inside, you find yourself in the world of cinema with stages, back lots, film sets, and dressing rooms. Learn about the history of TV and how movies are made today, try your hand as a makeup artist, make amazing photos and feel the magic of cinema! The exhibition is held from midday to 1.30 pm. Tickets cost 450 rubles and can be purchased here.
