St. Petersburg Celebrates Navy Day

On Sunday, St. Petersburg celebrated Navy Day with a presidential address, a ship parade and spectacular fireworks.

Thousands of citizens and guests of the city came out to celebrate one of the most beloved and colorful holidays in St. Petersburg. Maybe it's because many families have members who have or currently are serving in the navy. Maybe because the city has a rich naval history dating back to Peter the Great founding the Russian fleet here. Or maybe it's ships in the Neva all decked out in flags, with the crews lined up in white uniforms, that make everyone feel like they're part of something greater.

Here's how regular people saw this holiday and what they loved best.
