This weekend, the city will turn into a paradise for cinema lovers, as it will host several great cinema events at once. If watching a good movie is your idea of spending quality time, then Lumiere Hall is a perfect pick. Lumiere Hall (74a Obvodny emb.) is a creative space that organizes multimedia exhibitions and night screenings of popular Hollywood movies. This Saturday, April 21, they will screen The Lord of the Rings trilogy that kicks off at 11.30 pm. Plop down on a bean bag chair and begin your journey to Middle-Earth!

For those feeling nostalgic for the heyday of silent cinema, this Sunday, April 22 at 5pm Rodina cinema at 12 Karavannaya street will screen three classic silent comedies: Max Takes a Bath by Lucien Nonguet, Work by Charlie Chaplin, and The Goat by Buster Keaton and Malcolm St. Clair, featuring live music by the Easy Winners Ragtime Band.

Look at this picture. Do you notice anything unusual? The barely-visible figure is the world-renowned “Invisible Man” Liu Bolin, a Chinese artist known for hiding himself within his photographs, by painting his entire body to match his surroundings, like a chameleon. His works convey “the idea of feeling invisible,” something everyone can relate to. An exhibition of Liu Bolin’s works is open at Erarta Museum till May 20.

But if you’d rather enjoy the spring than stay indoors then the DayOnBike festival which will start at 11am on April 22 at Dvortsovaya Square is exactly what you need. The event will be held as part of the 15th German week in St Petersburg and includes various lectures, a flash mob, a fair, and a party.

Whatever you choose, we hope you enjoy your weekend! Yours truly, ITMO.NEWS.
