The questions of practice and further employment are among the most relevant topics for students. Not every Russian employer is ready to hire a foreign citizen, even for a few months. Students asked the rector about the training opportunities in the laboratories of the university, the number of which today is almost fifty. Such a practice can become the basis for the subsequent employment of students in the scientific departments of the University.

A similar experience is widespread in foreign universities, where students combine study and work as technicians or scientific advisors assistants.
"Indeed, it would be nice if various departments of the University have prepared a list of jobs they are ready to offer you. So you could choose something suitable for you without sacrificing your studies," Vladimir Vasilyev responded to the offer.
Problems with the hostels are still a problem for students. Despite the fact that foreign students get their rooms faster than anyone, there are some nuances: people of different nationalities can be put in one room, which sometimes makes it difficult to live together. According to the students, the isolation from students of other countries would not be the best way out of the situation. The neighborhood of different diasporas on the floor but not in the rooms may help to solve the problem. The importance of this issue was noted by rector as well, because the hostels of ITMO University are going to be reorganized and the information received from the students may help the University to choose the right course of changes.

The questions of obtaining scholarships by foreign students and providing them with additional lessons during the first courses to help improving their achievements were also covered during the meeting.
"During such meetings, foreign students have the opportunity to convey their problems and concerns, which differ significantly from the problems and challenges of Russian students, directly to the head of the University. And Vladimir N. offered to make these tea meetings regularly. The intervals between them are not yet defined, but, in my opinion, to make it possible to fulfill the promises, the meetings should take place not less than once in every six months," Daria Kozlova comments, the head of the Institute for International Development and Partnership.
After the first meeting with foreign students the Council of Foreign students was established, which successfully works in ITMO University.
"I participated in that meeting. At that time there was no Council, so all the questions were more personal. This year we asked them on behalf of all foreign students. After all, our main goal is to make sure that every new student will feel that ITMO University is the best university for foreigners. It seems to me, that at other universities, students do not understand who to turn to with their questions. In our University foreign students know that in case of problems they can come to our Council," Arelyanes Vetchinov Jose Nikolay says, the chairman of the Foreign Students Council.
