From 17 to 23 of February 2014 the "Marathon of urbanistics" will be held in St. Petersburg. The Marathon is organized by the ITMO University. There will be a series of lectures by experts in the field of urban planning, design, development and branding from Spain, France, Poland and Russia.
The first lecture will be held on February 17 at 6 pm in the space Biblioteka.The main theme of this phase of the marathon will be territorial branding. Jose Torres, the founder of the company “Bloom Consulting” and Denis Vizgalov, geographer, economist, the head of research and consulting company "Living City"will talk about methods and tools for city branding . The participants will become familiar with successful cases of promotion of cities in Russia and abroad. The registration is required for participation.
21 of February at 7 pm in the lecture hall "Pro Arte" Edward Moreau, the director and co-owner of Technopolitan Studio company will hold the lecture “The Myth of the formation of cities: What actually does urban designer design?" You can sign up here.
The marathon finishes on 23 of February at 1 pm by lecture of Piotr Lawrence "Transformation of Polish cities". Piotr Lawrence is Professor of Gdansk Polytechnic University and vice president of the association ISOCARP. He will raise the issue of a remodel and redevelopment of urban areas in Russia and talk about personal experience in this area. The lecture will be held at the University of Information Technologies Mechanics and Optics at 14 Birgevaya Line. The registration is required.
