“It is a great privilege to meet with you. I hope that we will concert on the main collaboration lines such as educational issues, research projects, commercialization of joint inventions and their promotion to the global market. It is very important for us to collaborate with you at this particular time when Russia and China establish more and more contacts developing economic, political, scientific and educational projects,” said Vladimir Vasilyev in his welcoming speech.
CQUPT representatives shared achievements and history of their university. Thus about 20, 000 Bachelors and 4, 000 Master`s students study at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications. CQUPT collaborates with 67 enterprises, transnational corporations and consortiums. According to Chinese experts the most important inventions are connected with 5G networks and “smart-city.” CQUPT makes contacts with 70 international educational institutions from the USA, Germany, Russia, Canada, UK, and South Korea. Chinese University also signed a cooperation agreement with ITMO University. According to Vladimir Grudinin, head of the Chair of Telecommunication Systems, currently Russian researchers together with Chinese colleagues discuss a joint project connected with 5G. They are also going to submit an application to two funds. 5G are the newest mobile networks that become popular globally. International community to implement them as a new communication standard.
Chinese partners also visited “Magic of Light” exhibition and several laboratories and centers of ITMO University.
“We hope that ITMO University will collaborate with us in future. Partnering with universities from all over the world we want to make more contacts with Russia. I would like to invite you to our university and our beautiful city,” said Mr. Yinguo.
