Mr. Hawking will share his thoughts with assistance of “Ask Me Anything” project organized by the popular social networking service “reddit”. The AMA is a platform for online discussions with famous people. This AMA session will run differently due to the constraints of Professor Hawking`s health. Mr. Hawking will select the most interesting questions and after the answers have been written, the moderators will publish them in the AMA.
“My goal will be to answer as many of the questions you submit as possible over the coming weeks. I appreciate all of your understanding, and taking the time to ask me your questions”.
Stephen Hawking also underlined that AI researchers have to balance the benefits of AI with the risks. At the beginning of 2015 he wrote an open letter together with Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak and others where he noted that the capability of AI technology should be restricted in order to make it safe because “AI systems must do what we want them to do ”.
