After signing an official cooperation agreement between ITMO University and UCLA in 2010, the universities cooperate in the framework of the program “EURECA”. The “EURECA” is aimed at innovative and entrepreneurial projects and startup accelerator programs. It also supports startups and their promotion in the USA and Russia. Nowadays Russian and American researchers develop the innovative ecosystem in eight regions of Russia and also carry out joint research projects.

Mr. Lynch said that he visited ITMO University to see the results of research projects and to learn more about business accelerator programs in order to find new areas of cooperation.

 Mr. Lynch visited FabLab Technopark and the Center of Design and Multimedia of ITMO University and discussed some recent research with members of international research centers.  The participants of “Future Technologies ITMO” and “SUMIT” program presented him their projects. Christopher Lynch said that he was ready to help young entrepreneurs to find potential partners as well as assist in cooperation between ITMO University and the University of California.

“It is very important for us to collaborate with the University of California because we can adopt experience to develop innovative ecosystem of the university,” said Ekaterina Egoshina, the head of innovation and marketing department.
