Russian software developers association (RUSSOFT) published the results of the annual survey, in which the level of training of IT-specialists in Russian universities was identified.The ITMO University took the first place in the ranking.
The software companies were the survey respondents.The number of mentions of a university (over the past four years) as a source for the staff replenishment was the main criterion for assessing.In other words, employers, representing more than 300 IT-companies from different regions of the country, were invited to answer the question about what graduates of high schools are in the highest demand.
"This is not the first time we publish such reports", Valentin Makarov comments, the head of the Russian software developers association."In them we collect opinions of the companies about the level of training of specialists for a particular business.As our colleagues often wonder where one can find some good specialists in the field of IT-technologies, we decided to create a list of the best IT-universities.We would like to see the results of our ranking became a stimulus for the development of universities.And we want universities to understand what the market wants from them".
Since the preparation of IT-specialists mainly concentrated in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the top ten includes universities from the two capitals.Only two universities from Novosibirsk were able to compete: Novosibirsk State University and Novosibirsk State Technical University.The second and the third place in the ranking were taken by Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Saint Petersburg State University with the number of references 77 and 74, respectively.And the best was the ITMO University with the result 82.

The high level of training in the ITMO University was repeatedly noted by many experts and representatives of the market.Today the University is a leader in many rankings.Both in the Russian and foreign ones. Such recognition was achieved also because of the successful performance of the teams in the student world championship in programming ACM ICPC. The ITMO University is the only five-time champion of this competition. Achievements of the University were repeatedly noted by Valentin Makarov, the head of RUSSOFT.And now they are noted by Russian employers.
